Living on the streets of Chicago, author Michele Altman has a story to tell about her identity, being called, broken, and being redeemed. You will read about her interrupted childhood, her rebellious teen years, and her years of drugs and prostitution. Ultimately, she hopes you will be inspired by her redeemed life and how God has used her experiences to shape and live out her life for Him.
Roots of My Identity, a nonfiction memoir, is written by author Michele Altman, who gives a first-hand look into the effects of doing life her way. Her story takes place mostly in the streets of Chicago. For years Michele traveled the highway of life doing things of her own accord. For over 15 years of her life, she made choices without thinking about the consequences or their impact on herself or others. She spiraled into a world of madness
It was not until Michele was able to wave the white flag of surrender that she began to understand just how much God carried her through the madness. This is her story, her upbringing, her surrender. Through her words, Michele wants to encourage women who have ever struggled with any hardships (madness) in life to raise their flag of surrender to God. There is power in surrender. Freedom comes once you know your identity and believe you are who God says you are. She wants you to know God has a good plan for your life, and you too can make it through the storms.
